Although very young, the Association is the recipient of awards, including the third place at the 16th Ethnofestival in Bulgaria in June 2016 in the competition of 74 dance and folklore groups. The Association represents, at its best, its municipality and its city both within Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond its borders.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Association has hosted many major festivals and cultural events aimed at preserving the cultural heritage and traditions of our peoples. In addition to visiting the region, in August 2015, the Association marked its first participation in an international festival abroad by traveling to the city of Sidi Bel Abbes in Algeria. It is important to note that KUD Ilidža is the first association from BiH to have ever guested in far-flung Algeria. 2017 was marked by guest appearances in Albania and Montenegro. In 2018, during the whole year, the association reached over 100 performances in BiH and the region in addition to hosting in the city of Kilimli, Turkey in the month of May.
The idea for the music band came up last year when our musicians and singers started performing with traditional music of all BiH peoples all over the country for tourist campaigns. Members of our music section in March this year participated in the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia organized by World Folk Vision and Nomad Universe where they made it to the finals of this prestigious competition in 94 nations. Our last trip was in Nesebar, Bulgaria last month.
